Alternative Gift Market - WOW!

Southviewers, this year's Alternative Gift Market broke all previous records for money raised for these awesome organizations committed to helping people in need! WOW! This year, we raised over $6,500 for Compassion International, Agape International Missions, Crosslink, International Justice Mission, Indigenous Outreach International, Partners in Hope, White Lotus, and World Vision - great job!! This is one way we serve other people in Jesus' name - and a huge thanks to Imelda Dungka and her team for all their hard work in faciliating this missions ministry event!

100% For 100% Of 57%

Today at Southview much is happening right before our eyes.  God is transforming our physical structure and image as our worship area and education area both undergo dramatic changes.  But what’s more exciting is the transformation He’s working internally within the body at Southview.
 
Clearly God is leading us in a revival unlike anything we’ve ever experienced and its all driven by our heartfelt desire to reach the 57% of the unchurched surrounding our local church and our desire to take the gospel beyond our walls, and beyond our borders.  From the work that the Beyond Our Walls ministry is doing through FACETS to the Cambodian outreach, our partnership with Compassion International as we reach into Africa to the new AWANAS program and many live events hosted at Southview we’re seeing lives really changed and the work of the Kingdom coming alive.
 
We’ve only just begun but one thing we already see is that we at Southview are 100% invested in Project 57.  The outpouring of help, support and prayers from the day we were called to start P57 the entire congregation has played a part, no less so these past few weeks with the construction and the start of new ministries like AWANA.  Today seeing visitors come and then stay, witnessing people accepting Christ and baptisms on a regular basis are all reinforcing our commitment to follow God’s leading in this important project. 
 
King Solomon wrote in Eccelesiates 5:20 “He (a righteous man) seldom reflects on the days of his life because God keeps him occupied with gladness of heart.”  As we push ahead with taking the Gospel out to the neighborhood and to the outermost parts of the world we have this confidence that we’ll be doing it with “gladness of heart.”  If you don’t think so…just look around you next time you drop by Southview.

Project 57 renovations are complete!!

Well, it is official - the Project 57 building renovations are complete!! So much hard work went into this huge project and we thank each and every one of you who helped out.  The results are truly amazing. Don't believe me? See for yourself :)

 

Our new worship center offers a convenient space not only for Sunday worship services, but also for AWANA games, SMBS classes, and even yearly events like the Thanksgiving Dinner!

Lots of changes were made in the children's area also.  Check out the brand new "Adventure Zone"!! It is so exciting that the kids now have their own special, fun environment to learn about God's amazing love for them.

 

 

Project 57 :: Chairs + Carpeting!

This morning we unloaded 380 chairs from a shipping truck into various nooks and crannies of the office wing. Our fabulous team was comprised of Mark, Lauren, and Megan Kime; Ron and Judy Hall; Lynn and Leah Carr; William Attaway; Steve Kane; and Jeff Boothe. Thanks for your help!

Also this morning, carpeting began in the worship center. Tomorrow, after the carpeting is complete, we can move all the chairs in.  How exciting that the Project 57 renovations are starting to wrap up!  Here are some pictures from this morning:
